Journal Entries

I've been giving the boys prompts for short writing assignments and had to share some of this week's answers:

What if you could walk on walls and ceilings?
(Joel) I would be very good at hide and seek.

What if cows gave rootbeer instead of milk?
(Ethan) Then I would never eat cereal agen.
(Joel) I would ask can we get a cow.

Somewhere over the rainbow

This picture doesn't begin to do it justice, but we saw the most awesome DOUBLE Rainbow tonight! The sky was actually quite clear, I don't know what happened with my camera here, and the bottom rainbow was the most vibrant I have ever seen in my life. We were able to distinctly identify ROY G BIV. Too cool. Posted by Picasa

Ahhhhhh...a routine

We're back to school! The boys are learning all about England and her first Kings. We're behind in Science, so we're cramming in as many biomes as possible this week. Originally we were going to begin Astronomy in August, but we are 9 weeks behind schedule. NINE! 2 days on deserts is plenty, I think....moving on! Tomorrow, the boys will get to play computer games for their history lesson. I have some great links to the sites they'll visit on Wednesday listed on the right. Fun stuff!

Smooth Operator

She's just too cute. Honor is running around the house singing "Smooth Operator", only she's pronouncing it "Smooth Opeedorator". She's got the tune down perfectly though.

Father's Day Dinner

This is a picture from our Father's Day dinner at Aunt Kumcha & Uncle Jay's.

Jay made marshmallow guns and we all had a BLAST! The food was incredible. Indescribably good. This pic is Grandma being ornery with Great Grandpa. She's holding Sarah while Sarah gnaws on a carrot stick. We thought Sarah was just sucking the life out of the thing, but the next day we found a surprising amount of carrot in her diaper.
The marshmallow gun is a must. If you have boys, you have to try this. I'm sure there are some free plans online somewhere if you google for them. The range is awesome. I pummelled Chris with mini-marshmallows and he calmly took it all without complaint. Later, he casually walked over to the gun-table and stuffed his mouth full of marshmallows. He somehow managed to spit one sticky marshmallow at a time into the gun and fired them off. They stuck to my black shirt, leaving what looked like snot smeared all over me. They stuck in my HAIR! and on my face....he was good. Scary good.

The Birthday Boy

Our baby is 9 years old! We celebrated a day early. It was pouring down rain, but they all went outside for a watergun fight anyway. We had a house full of friends and family. It has been a blast. We're about to head out for a Father's Day dinner at Uncle Jay & Aunt Kumcha's. Bagogi (sp?) and egg rolls....yummmmmm................

A full, fun, and wonderful day. Posted by Picasa
