Been a day
We broke down and took our mosquit-o-fied daughter to the doctor today. She has had a fever for the past couple days and was just miserable today. One look at her arm and he said she needed antibiotics for the bites. Then he checked her ears and she had a double ear infection. Then he checked her tonsils and they were swollen. Then he checked her throat and she had a red throat and blisters on her tongue. She had mentioned that her mouth hurt, but I didn't understand what she was talking about. He said it was possibly thrush and/or a viral infection. And listening to other symptoms, he said it sounded like she either had a urinary tract infection or sugar issues. Hoping and praying for uti. He said the antibiotics should fix her all up by Monday. One day after her big birthday party. Hopefully we'll see results earlier than that. We'll need to go back if things aren't looking better by then though. We didn't get our mail until half an hour ago and she received her first birthday card of the year. She asked what it was and I explained it was her card and her birthday money and 'what would she like to buy with her money?'
Her response?
"Candy!"

It's a tooth!
It is such a blurry picture, but once she knew the camera was pointed at her, there was no getting a distance shot. On her top left, she has one of her front teeth finally broken through. It took forever! Her other front tooth, plus the two beside the front teeth (forgive me, I know they have a name, but I can't remember) all look as if they should follow within the week.Is it just me, or does she look like John Candy?

Where'd she ever hear a thing like that?
Forgive him
He's so adorable, you must overlook his atrocious mangling of ...well, I'll let you guess what song he was trying to sing:"Marching in the army -
to the land of Tennessee."
I had him repeat it several times, certain I was hearing him wrong. I'd taught him better than that, right? Apparently not.
Adorable picture, huh? Ethan and Joel went on a picture-taking spree today. I'll add more of their "shots" later.
